the experience was as horrendous as it gets. squeaky floors kept me awake, not to mention the utter lack of privacy with conversations booming from next door. also, after all that hassle, a complimentary chocolate or something would have been nice, but no, just standard fare. I almost thought it was worth a good review, but it just wasn’t, absolutely terrible.

The beds were comfy and the rooms provided ample wardrobe space. The view from the rooms, peering out to the mountains, was a highlight that kept things picturesque.

The wooden floors are excessively squeaky, waking you up with every light-footed guest wandering by at odd hours. The shared bathroom situation wasn’t ideal, and despite being clean, sharing with several rooms was less than convenient. the lack of privacy with doors that have windows meant that light from the hallway disturbed sleep at night.

Staying at Hotel-Restaurant Alpina turned out to be a delightful surprise. The discounted rate of CHF55 offered for a six-night stay included half-board, which made it a bargain! The charming wooden paneling and creaky floors gave it an authentic alpine feel. The shared bathrooms were kept clean, which was a relief despite initially having reservations about sharing facilities. Breakfast was simple but satisfying, with enough choices to start the day. Dinners were equally enjoyable, featuring local meat dishes that were well-prepared. One disadvantage was the noise from the wooden floors. every step made echoed loudly in the night, occasionally disturbing sleep. The view of the mountains from my room was stunning, making the room's coziness even more appealing. the friendliness of the staff really made the stay memorable, even if the lack of privacy in the shared areas could be an issue for some. Worth recommending, just with the caveat about the noise levels!
